In a first of kind initiative in Canada, Concordia University students in Montreal voted to a general election on campus to contribute 0.75$ per class to help the youth of northern Uganda rebuild their community and their lives. Over the last two years the combined funds of the 42 000 students at Concordia have helped to improve the lives of many youth in northern Uganda through CVAP's numerous community outreach programs. Even so the reconstruction efforts currently ongoing in the region, and those on the drawing board, need MUCH more funding.
It is for this reason that CVAP have compiled information that can be made available to anyone interested in mounting a campaign aimed at creating a sister program at their school. Many schools across Canada are interested in doing so and campaigns may start this fall of 2009 for two universities and colleges in Montreal.
